We love showing our age!
Join Hudson River Heritage as we celebrate 400 years of Dutch heritage and the 21st Annual Country Seats Tour – one of the finest and longest-running tours in the Hudson Valley Region.
Once again, we open wide the doors of history to stroll through finely preserved and architecturally significant structures. Each tells a richly layered story with chapters written by the generations that have built, expanded, and preserved these treasures.
Fine old houses make fine friends
Fine old homes can illuminate history, reflect social relationships, and provide us with a connection to those who lived there. The influence of Dutch design has survived the changes of time, taste, and technology to continue to shape our lives.
Ulster County – A living museum of Dutch history
Some of the oldest buildings and sites in the United States are located in Ulster County. The Dutch were the earliest European settlers in the Hudson Valley and their influence can still be seen and felt everywhere – in place names, architecture, and our agricultural landscape, and their entrepreneurial spirit and characteristics of inclusiveness and practicality remembered.
